ILM uses high volume environmentally-friendly water-based road paints to provide:
- excellent coverage;
- fast drying (almost immediately);
- are economical;
- ready to use; and
- non-toxic (to our line marking employees or the environment).
Water-based paints are made of an acrylic resin emulsion and reduce the emission of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) into the atmosphere by 85 per cent. When applied, these water-based paints are covered with a layer of reflective glass beads providing high visibility in low light conditions.
Longitudinal lines are applied via our fleet of paint trucks fitted with the latest four-camera guidance system. Two cameras installed on each side of the truck provide our specialist operators with “close-to-ground” vision via a screen in the truck cab. This allows them to follow the alignment with greater accuracy and speed.
