How We Paint Longitudinal Lines
Broken and unbroken lines that show road and lane boundaries are applied via our fleet of paint trucks fitted with the latest four-camera guidance system. Two of the cameras are installed on each side of the truck, providing our specialist operators with “close-to-ground” vision via a screen in the truck cab. This allows them to follow the alignment with greater accuracy and speed.
The Type of Paint Used
We use high volume, environmentally-friendly, water-based road paints to:
provide excellent coverage;
be fast drying (almost immediately);
be economical; and
be non-toxic to our line marking employees or the environment
Water-based paints are made of an acrylic resin emulsion and reduce the emission of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) into the atmosphere by 85%. When applied, these water-based paints are covered with a layer of reflective glass beads to provide high visibility in low light conditions.
